Assistant Professor, School of Psychology 999823
Faculty
The School of Psychology at Xavier University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank, beginning Fall 2024. The position will support our undergraduate major and APA-accredited clinical psychology doctoral (Psy.D.) program.
The Psy.D. program provides generalist, practitioner-scientist training. Students also select training in one or more focus areas: Child and Adolescent, Individuals with Severe and Chronic Problems & Psychopathology (ISCPP), and Healthcare Psychology across the Lifespan (HCPALS).
We also have a large undergraduate major, and faculty teach in both programs, typically having a 3/3 teaching load after their first year. Faculty engage in a program of research, mentor graduate and undergraduate research, provide service within the School of Psychology, and may provide clinical supervision to Psy.D. students.
We invite individuals of various theoretical orientations and areas of clinical expertise. We are particularly interested in applicants who view themselves as scientist-practitioners. Candidates should have earned a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an APA-accredited clinical or counseling psychology program and must also be licensed, or license-eligible in the state of Ohio (expectation of Ohio license within one year of hire).

The letter of interest should address the applicant’s professional expertise and experience in teaching, research, and creating an inclusive environment in the classroom and university setting. Letters of recommendation will be requested after initial screening interviews. These materials should be submitted on Xavier’s website. Please note: only five attachments can be uploaded during the application process online; consolidate documents if necessary.
