Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. for any employer.
Travel: Up to 25% of time domestically.
Estimated Salary Range: $116,800-$133,100.
The Job
The Director, GIK Operations and Programming will evaluate and implement existing GIK-specific programmatic strategies, including church engagement, resourcing teachers and GIK partners, and identifying and serving the Most Vulnerable Children in the communities we serve. Monitor and evaluate short- and long-term performance benchmarks, program level staffing, information and financial needs, and operational integration with WVUS national standards at all domestic ministry sites. Lead a diverse team of site leaders across multiple locations. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
1. Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
2. GIK Programming - Evaluate and implement strategies to meet organizational and division objectives for GIK-specific programs, including:
• Identifying and serving the Most Vulnerable Children in the communities we serve
• Excellence and consistency in partnering with local church partners, teachers, volunteers and community leaders to effectively serve those being resourced at the site level.
• Working with the Domestic Response Director to understand and meet GIK needs associated with Humanitarian Emergencies within the established requirements of that program.
• Partnering with Church Engagement team to continue supporting and advancing specific organizational strategies as they are developed.
3. GIK Operations - Provide leadership and sectoral expertise to a decentralized and diverse business unit in various locations, including:
• Implementation of national standards and protocols to ensure desired ministry impact and operational excellence, including regular audits and monitoring to ensure standardization of practices and excellence in GIK handling.
• Oversee WV USP Volunteer Policy including background checks in accordance with WVUS policy. Coordinate with Safeguarding standards as appropriate.
• Provide direct leadership to six site managers ensuring teams are fully equipped and are being developed in critical capabilities.
• Collaborate with USP program-specific subject matter experts to ensure effective integration of GIK programming within each region.
• Serve as the main point of contact for Director of Facilities to help manage building leases, vendors, capital improvement projects and any incidents that may arise.
4. National Leadership and Partnership – Contribute to US Programs national leadership team and collaborate with WV internal partners regarding GIK programming and operations, including:
• Work with other USP National Team members on the development and implementation of the approved US Programs business model and strategy.
• Provide strategic and tactical direction in developing national goals, budget and operating plans integrating GIK into overall US Programs strategy.
• Serve as strategic advisor, partner and advocate on behalf of US Programs for regional sites and with Storehouse partners regarding program strategy implementation in most vulnerable communities, and ensuring necessary resources and accountability are available.
• Provide support to WV internal partners on fundraising strategies such as Church Engagement, Corporate Engagement, and domestic Vision Trips, including providing information to private and public fundraisers and input on proposal development and asks.
• Serve as single point of contact for internal business units regarding all inquiries, feedback and issues related to regional Storehouse sites.
5. Hire, fire, train, counsel, evaluate, and recommend salary increases and promotions for those under direct supervision.
6. Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
8. Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires strong work experience in program management and/or related areas including specific experience in logistics, inventory control, and procurement; 8+ years. Must include 5+ years of leadership experience including successfully leading diverse teams. Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
Salary & Benefits
WVUS Pay Grade Level: 228
Estimated hiring range is $116,800-$133,100.
The posted hiring salary range reflects pay for U.S. locations and is determined using market data and internal compensation guidelines. Actual compensation may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, and applicable laws. A different range may apply in certain locations.
