In addition to education or education equivalent, requires at least 5 years in one or more of the following areas: outside sales in target industries, business-to-business relationship management/sales, or leadership responsibility over business operations. Must have an understanding of and/or experience with business engagement techniques and demonstrated ability to manage and develop major account relationships.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. for any employer.
Travel: Frequent domestic and some international travel required (20–30%). Possible weekend and evening work to accommodate donor schedules, if necessary.
Estimated Salary Range: $87,700 to $124,560
The Job
The World Vision Corporate Engagement Director will facilitate growth in World Vision’s ministry by planning and implementing a donor engagement, development, and management strategy. This role focuses on activating and cultivating long-term relationships with corporate executives, corporations, and foundations to secure ministry-aligned gifts-in-kind (GIK), cash, and gratis service resources. These include ministry-aligned consumer products, cost-offsetting services (Freight in Kind), and cash.
This senior-level, strategic role will typically identify and develop relationships with domestic and multinational, multi-billion-dollar retail and manufacturing companies operating in the consumer products space. These prospects are often multinational corporations and/or ministry-aligned corporate foundations.
This innovative and inspirational leader will engage corporations and foundations through custom, collaborative philanthropic solutions aligned with WVUS campaigns, producing meaningful outcomes for both World Vision and donor partners. This leadership role supports World Vision’s Christian mission, vision, and strategy. The leader will personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word, and sign.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate World Vision Core Values into decisions within the scope of the role.
- Actively participate as a member of the Corporate Engagement team, managing donor relationships across middle, major, and strategic donor tiers. Manage a portfolio of relationships in excess of $25 million annually, engaging corporations and foundations in strategic business and philanthropic initiatives, including cash projects, cause marketing, GIK, SIK, workplace giving, matching gifts, employee and community engagement efforts, and other resource-generating activities.
- Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships with GIK System peers in USP, Supply Chain, Philanthropy, Marketing, and Technology to create harmonious and effective system efficiencies and development initiatives.
- Plan and implement account management strategies to leverage relationships for growth and ensure key deliverables and donor expectations are met.
- Leverage existing relationships with influential corporate contacts to accelerate relationship building and business development. Demonstrate corporate acumen and an understanding of how World Vision partnerships support corporate objectives (e.g., optimized profitability, sustainability goals, employee retention, and brand satisfaction).
- Represent WVUS at trade shows and with donor senior management. Cultivate and sustain donor relationships through personal visits, phone, email, reporting, and both domestic and international field vision trips.
- Utilize and innovate with relevant technology tools to enable effective and cost-efficient donor engagement, social platform messaging, and the creation and distribution of promotional communication assets.
- Arrange opportunities for significant donors and individuals with large spheres of influence to interact with WVUS and WVI senior leadership, field staff, and domestic/international projects, as appropriate. Link potential individual giving prospects with the Philanthropy team.
- Understand and articulate World Vision’s model of transformational development to increase donor passion and engagement across multiple business solutions.
- Represent WVUS, as assigned, in public speaking engagements and media interviews.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve goals; serve as a collaborative leader in a team-based environment.
- Actively use the WVUS CRM system to accurately plan and track donor interactions.
- Manage account-specific budgets.
- Work collaboratively with team members when assigned as part of a team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities; follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

- Written Communication: Clearly and effectively expresses ideas in writing using appropriate grammar, organization, and structure. Writes persuasively and creatively, tailoring messages to diverse audiences with appropriate tone and style.

Estimated hiring range is $87,700 to $124,560
