In addition to education or education equivalent, requires 8-10 years of information systems work experience with a strong understanding of information systems architectures.
Preferred Experience: Expertise in data architecture and data modeling. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing data solutions in a Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., SQL Server, Power BI/SSRS/SSAS) and integrating data across multiple applications and platforms.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A for any employer.

The Job
The Data Architect will lead the development of our enterprise data warehouse and setting data architecture standards for World Vision U.S., ensuring the design, implementation, and operationalization of a cohesive data architecture and technical framework across all of the digital team
Responsibilities

- Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
- Oversee the development of World Vision U.S.' Data architecture design, standards and operational implementations. Maintain a focus on the utilization of new technologies and methodologies in the most appropriate and cost-effective manner within World Vision.
- Manage internal client/customer relationships to ensure that service objective expectations are developed and managed appropriately.
- Develop and oversee staffing to support the operations of all supported database technologies and direct the team in the processes to evaluate and develop the strategic growth and maturity of the data architectures, optimization of database products for performance and cost.
- Consult with senior leadership regarding emerging technologies and opportunities to improve reliability, reduce costs and provide adequate growth capacity that is aligned with the overall strategic plans of the ISG organization.
- Maintain a current knowledge of emerging technologies and constantly evaluating the potential impact to World Vision US.
- Liaise with World Vision International Office, Partnership Office CIO, staff and other regional/national/field offices in support of data architectures and integration requirements.
- Work with the operations and project managers to hire, terminate, train and counsel employees; evaluate employee performance against individual and team goals and recommend salary increases, promotions and other personnel actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
- Keep informed of organizational announcements, activities and changes via regular reading of the WVUS Intranet and other corporate communication tools.
You Bring These Skills
- Data architecture & modeling: Strong experience designing enterprise data models (conceptual/logical/physical), including dimensional modeling (star/snowflake) and normalized models; ability to translate business needs into scalable data structures.
- Azure Data Plaform: Azure Data Platform: Expertise architecting and supporting solutions across Microsoft’s cloud data ecosystem, including Microsoft Fabric (data engineering, lakehouse, pipelines), Azure SQL, and Data Lake, with strong proficiency in data governance, cataloging, lineage, and security using Microsoft Purview.
- Microsoft SQL Server: Deep knowledge of MS SQL Server (T-SQL, schema design, indexing, query performance tuning, security, and operational best practices).
- Data integration / ETL: Experience building and managing pipelines using SSIS (or equivalent ETL/ELT tooling), including orchestration, monitoring, and error handling.
- BI / Semantic layer: Experience designing and supporting analytics solutions using SSAS (Tabular) and/or equivalent semantic modeling; understanding of measures, hierarchies, and reusable data sets.
- Reporting & visualization: Hands-on experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX fundamentals, dataset governance) and/or SSRS for operational reporting.
- Master Data Management: Experience with MDS or another MDM/master data tool and concepts (golden record, survivorship, reference data, stewardship workflows).
- Data governance & quality: Practical experience implementing data standards, lineage/metadata practices, data quality controls, and access/security patterns.
- Communication & stakeholder management: Ability to partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders, document architecture decisions, and guide teams toward consistent implementation.

The posted hiring salary range reflects pay for U.S. locations and is determined using market data and internal compensation guidelines. Actual compensation may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, and applicable laws. A different range may apply in certain locations.
