World Vision is hiring a Sr. Internal Auditor to serve in the Legal & Compliance division.

Role: Sr. Internal Auditor
Reports To: Director of Enterprise Risk Management & Assurance
Location: Remote within the U. S.; Federal Way, WA or Washington, DC considered for hybrid.
Required Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, and/or finance or equivalent work experience (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, 5 years of work experience in public accounting and/or internal audit required. Experience with U.S. federal grant regulations, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) cost principles, administrative requirements, and audit standards, is strongly preferred. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) Requires professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and/or Certificate in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA).
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. for any employer.
Travel: Up to 10% of time within the U.S., based on needs of the role.
Estimated Salary Range: $81,300 to $117,040
The Job
The Sr. Internal Auditor lead and execute complex financial, operational, and compliance audits with a high degree of independence consistent with a senior audit professional. Serve as a trusted advisor to program and operational teams by fostering strong relationships, gaining deep process understanding, and delivering independent, objective assurance. Apply advanced critical thinking, audit expertise, and communication skills to identify improvement opportunities that strengthen internal controls, enhance operational performance, and support the achievement of organizational objectives. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Responsibilities Will Include
- Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
- Plan and execute audits by determining scope, assessing risk factors, understanding control activities, and preparing engagement logistics.
- Engage with stakeholders to collect and analyze information on program operations and funding mechanisms to document processes, identify control points, and support audit objectives.
- Conduct audit fieldwork, including testing, evidence gathering, documentation, and evaluation of control effectiveness in alignment with internal audit standards. Prepare audit reports that outline issues, supporting evidence, associated risks, and recommended actions. Deliver final reports and supporting documentation.
- Present audit results to management and participate in discussions on remediation, follow‑up actions, and timelines. Coordinate with internal and partnership audit functions as needed.
- Support internal audit transformation and change initiatives by contributing information, documentation, or analysis required for improvement efforts.
- Maintain current knowledge of internal audit standards, relevant regulations, and professional certification requirements through continuing education and self‑study.
- Participate in task forces, committees, and team‑based projects by contributing audit expertise and completing assigned deliverables.
- Provide guidance and support to audit interns, including reviewing assigned work and assisting with audit tasks as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary & Benefits
WVUS Pay Grade Level: 225
Estimated hiring range is $81,300 to $117,040

Actual compensation may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, and applicable laws. A different range may apply in certain locations.
