World Vision is hiring a Senior Director of Creative to serve as the transformational change leader of World Vision’s internal creative agency, charged with modernizing marketing and breakthrough creative to elevate the organization’s brand and impact. This role blends creativity with strategic leadership, ensuring that every campaign, message, and visual expression of World Vision not only inspires generosity but also delivers measurable results that advance the mission.

Reports to: Vice President of Brand & Communications

Location: Federal Way, Washington or Remote

Required Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 10 years in creative leadership, brand strategy, or agency management. Proven experience managing senior creative professionals and large-scale teams.

Preferred Experience: Background in faith-based or humanitarian organizations preferred.

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A for any employer.

Estimated hiring range: $123,700 - $184,320

 

The Job

As Senior Director of Creative, you will guide a talented team of designers, writers, and multimedia professionals, as well as partner with external agencies, to deliver innovative, high-impact creative work. The Senior Director will champion World Vision’s brand identity across all platforms, ensuring consistency and resonance, while also driving innovation to engage new audiences and deepen the connection with existing supporters. As a faith-based humanitarian organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and communities worldwide, we need a communications leader who can ensure alignment with organizational mission and brand integrity while driving strategic engagement and fostering a high-performance communications team.

The role may require occasional domestic and international travel to field locations to gather stories and content, as well as to represent World Vision at key events.

Responsibilities will include

  • Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a creative strategy aligned with mission and goals, overseeing a large creative function through a senior leader and driving cross-functional campaigns, organizational visibility, and strategic collaboration with external agency partners.
  • Creative Vision: Lead creative development of content and campaigns. Drive innovation in messaging and visual identity. Embed faith-based values into creative processes and team practices. Encourage prayer, reflection, and mission alignment in decision-making.
  • Brand Strategy: Champion brand identity across all touchpoints. Partner with agencies to monitor brand performance and adapt strategies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure creative alignment. Build relationships with media and influencers.
  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and assess creative talent. Cultivate a culture of creativity and continuous improvement. Provide strategic direction and performance management for direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years in creative leadership, brand strategy, or agency management.
  • Proven track record of leading transformative creative campaigns for recognized brands or agencies (CPG/brand management strongly preferred).
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to inspire and energize diverse senior creative teams.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, agility, and commitment to modern marketing practices.
  • Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to World Vision's mission and Christian values.

 Salary & Benefits

WVUS Pay Grade Level: 230

Estimated hiring range is: $123,700 - $184,320

The posted hiring salary range reflects pay for U.S. locations and is determined using market data and internal compensation guidelines. Actual compensation may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, and applicable laws. A different range may apply in certain locations.
