Required Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (8 years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires 5 years of work experience as a paralegal and/or legal secretary. Paralegal certificate required.
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. for any employer.
Estimated Salary Range: $91,000-108,000.
The Job
The Paralegal will provide professional support and assistance for the attorneys. Perform legal research, gather information regarding laws, ordinances, regulations, court decisions and other materials. Use analytical skills to prepare summaries of findings. Draft, review and organize legal documents, records, and databases commonly found in the legal field. Manage multiple priorities. Coordinate and oversee sales and property tax exemptions, insurance policy renewals and claims, immigration files, and other legal projects. Serve as initial point of contact for legal issues and questions. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
Responsibilities Will Include
1. Keep Christ central in our individual and corporate lives. Attend and participate in the leadership of devotions, weekly Chapel services, and regular prayer.
2. Legal support for attorneys:
• Provide support to attorneys as needed; drafting documents, maintaining databases; conducting research; and communicating to clients.
• Prioritize multiple projects and tasks independently.
• Understand legal concepts and apply them generally to legal research.
• Coordinate and attend meetings.
• Distribute subpoena and other service of legal process.
3. Legal research:
• Conduct research regarding laws, ordinances, regulations, court decisions, and other similar materials and provide summary analysis from various law sources.
• Provide comprehensive reports, citations and documentation.
• Explain procedures, regulations and policies to attorneys and clients.
4. Tax exemption filings:
• Research, acquire, track, and maintain sales tax exemptions.
• Research, acquire, track, and maintain property tax exemptions.
• Perform research on other exemptions and tax filings.
5. Immigration Support:
• Assist attorneys, requesting departments, and outside counsel with immigration filings, information gathering and permanent residency filings.
• Create and maintain immigration files.
• Research and respond to questions.
6. Insurance Support:
• Coordinate policy renewals annually.
• Gather updated information from various internal resources.
• Track and coordinate insurance claims.
• Respond to insurance questions and issues from across the organization.
7. Administrative Support:
• Coordinate and backstop for staff as needed.
• Perform administrative support functions as needed.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
9. Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as part of a team.
10. Keep informed of organizational announcements, activities and changes via regular reading of the WVUS Intranet and other corporate communication tools.

Salary & Benefits
WVUS Pay Grade Level: 225
Estimated hiring range is $91,000-108,000.
The posted hiring salary range reflects pay for U.S. locations and is determined using market data and internal compensation guidelines. Actual compensation may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, and applicable laws. A different range may apply in certain locations.
