Travel: Up to 100% of time in the U.S.
Estimated Salary Range: $45-50 per hour
Full salary range for this role: $40-$60 per hour
The Job
The WV Spokesperson will promote, enhance, and acquire Child Sponsorships by presenting compelling in-person appeals to audiences at various CDM events (Church, Artist, Schools) raising attendees’ awareness of WVUS’ programs and work around the globe and significantly increasing the number of individuals who commit to becoming a child sponsor. Responsible to significantly exceed average response rate for channels. Provide coaching and consulting to various external partners such as pastors and artists as well as CDM staff on their public appeals in support of WVUS. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
- Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life. Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, devotions, chapel, prayer, worship); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
- Travel to events across the country and utilize skills as an experienced live communicator to deliver impactful sermons and appeals on behalf of World Vision US at various child sponsorship events across the country. Responsible to generate high response rates.
- Increase the percentage of pastors who allow World Vision to present appeals at their churches by partnering with Senior Church Advisors to share the vision of Chosen at key large church pastor meetings.
- Lead planning meetings with the Sr. Pastor (or Artist) during the weeks leading up to launch providing coaching on best practices for their portion of the appeal and team teach.
- Attend and participate in on-site preparation meetings, including rehearsals, sound checks, staff meetings, etc.) as required.
- Provide coaching and training to World Vision staff, fundraisers, and appeal givers as required.
- Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires proven career experience as a compelling communicator with demonstrated success making appeals to large (>5000) audiences and achieving fundraising targets. 10 to 15 years of high-profile professional experience in church, music industry, fundraising or education required. Experience working with Christian audiences preferred.
