Location: Prefer Seattle area (our USHQ is located in Federal Way, WA). Pacific Northwest region possible.
Office Culture: We call it “flexible remote.” Translation: This team has required onsite days 1-2 days per month, but outside of that we’re not requiring staff to come into the office a prescribed number of days or a percentage of time each week. Working closely with managers, employees may work virtually, work onsite or a blend of the two.
Salary: $93,100 - $149,000 (job offers typically fall in the $115,000 - $130,000 range). DOE.

The Role
As the Lead Developer & Architect, you’ll be the driving force behind the business design of a new marketing automation and orchestration platform. You’ll play a pivotal role in the Child Sponsorship Experience project—a complete reimagining of our sponsorship journey for the first time in over a decade!
But this role is far from just strategic thinking. You’ll apply your technical skills by developing code for cutting-edge campaigns and mentoring a dedicated team of marketing campaign specialists and technologists. This unique blend of hands-on development and strategic leadership will allow you to refine and expand your technical and leadership expertise continuously.

Responsibilities
- Lead along with others a Transformative Project: Join an 18-24 month project designed to redefine how we market and communicate with donors—digital-first, donor-centric, and leveraging artificial intelligence for maximum impact.
- Strategically Shape the Solution Design: Guide the technical and business design for a new Marketing Automation and Orchestration solution. Ensure each decision reflects the best technical answer, business alignment, and long-term sustainability. Strategic thinking is key!
- Hands-On Campaign Development: Stay close to the technology by writing and deploying code to bring campaigns to life in platforms like Iterable, Braze, and Adobe Journey Optimizer using JavaScript, Advanced HTML, CSS, Liquid Scripting and more.
- Collaborate in Scaled Agile Frameworks: Work with Program Teams to support a methodology that enables independent yet interdependent workstreams. Align with program objectives while achieving specific goals within Scaled Agile Release Trains and Program Increments.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or other related field (Or equivalent work experience)
- At least 7 years of relevant technical and business work experience with at least 2 years managing projects in a marketing organization
- Certifications in SAFe, Scrum, and/or related
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States
Key Skills
- Software Development: Proven skills in software development including Advanced HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Liquid, SQL
- Technical Architecture Design: Proven aptitude to design technical architecture solutions tailored to business needs.
- Marketing Technology Expertise: Experienced with platforms such as CDPs, CRMs, and marketing automation tools.
- Agile Development Proficiency: Skilled in agile methodology, with experience breaking down complex problems, writing user stories, and using work-tracking tools like Jira.
- Change-Driven Project Experience: Familiarity with large-scale, transformative projects that influence mindsets and work approaches.
- Multitasking & Prioritization: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain focus on overarching goals, and work with minimal oversight, ability to self-manage, listening for actions and managing accordingly.
- Exceptional Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Marketing Insight: Background in marketing or close collaboration with marketing teams is highly desired.
Salary Range & Benefits
Your compensation and benefits are important to you so they’re important to us. The full salary range for this role is $93,100 - $149,000. The typical hiring range is $115,000 - $130,000. Job offers within the range are based on relevant job qualifications and pay equity.
