THE TEAM
Make-A-Wish America is the national headquarters for our organization, providing resources and support for our 58 Chapters around the country. The Information Technology team is comprised of a diverse team of technologists responsible for building and operating the technologies that enable Make-A-Wish to grant the wish of every eligible child. The Information Technology team is focused on providing innovative solutions across these key areas: Operations, Security, Applications, Infrastructure, Governance, and Analytics.
THE ROLE
The Product Manager plays a foundational role in supporting the development, adoption, and growth of enterprise-wide technology products at Make-A-Wish (MAW). This role focuses on tactical execution while contributing to operational and strategic objectives under the guidance of senior team members. The APM collaborates with stakeholders, end-users, and technical teams to understand needs, ensure continuous improvement, and deliver incremental value through product iterations.
WHERE YOU COME IN
As the Product Manager you will:
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to identify and document user needs, contributing to long-term product strategy and planning under the guidance of senior team members.
- Build trust and foster strong working relationships with stakeholders by actively listening to their needs, addressing concerns, and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Assist in creating and maintaining product roadmaps, ensuring transparency and effective communication of timelines and progress.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and user story development, to ensure efficient execution of product enhancements.
- Support user success by gathering feedback, identifying challenges, and assisting with the adoption of product-related changes in partnership with senior team members.
- Help define and execute acceptance criteria for product enhancements, supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) and system demonstrations.
- Monitor system upgrades and their impact, helping to identify and mitigate risks associated with product changes.
- Facilitate communication and knowledge-sharing among users to ensure they are informed of product updates, best practices, and opportunities for improvement.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ year of experience in product management, project management, or related roles.
- Strong comfort with technology and familiarity with CRMs or similar platforms.
- Product Owner, Product Manager and/or Agile certification preferred.
- Experience in a nonprofit or federated organization is a plus.
- Experience with technology systems like CRMs (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.
- Position may require travel to organizational conferences and events.
