THE TEAM
Make-A-Wish America is the national headquarters for our organization, providing resources and support for our 58 Chapters around the country. The Information Technology team is comprised of a diverse team of technologists responsible for building and operating the technologies that enable Make-A-Wish to grant the wish of every eligible child. The Information Technology team is focused on providing innovative solutions across these key areas: Operations, Security, Applications, Infrastructure, Governance, and Analytics.
THE ROLE
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer is responsible for the successful implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Salesforce Marketing Cloud within Make-A-Wish (MAW). The Marketing Cloud Developer is a technical leader and subject matter expert, ensuring that the platform supports the organization’s goals for engagement, personalization, and operational efficiency. This role involves building and managing campaigns, automations, data workflows, and reusable components to enhance marketing initiatives across a federated organizational structure. The Marketing Cloud Developer plays a critical role in empowering marketing strategies and maximizing the value of the Salesforce ecosystem.
WHERE YOU COME IN
As the Senior Salesforce Developer you will:
- Business Unit Management: Configure and maintain multiple Marketing Cloud business units to align with organizational structure and governance.
- Data Management: Build and manage campaigns, data extensions, data filters, and audience segmentation strategies to enable personalized and targeted marketing efforts.
- Journey and Automation Development: Design, implement, and optimize customer journeys and automated workflows using Journey Builder and Automation Studio.
- Email and Content Development: Develop reusable email templates, dynamic content, and other marketing assets using AMPscript, HTML, and CSS.
- User Management and Governance: Assist in managing user roles, permissions, and account settings to ensure secure and efficient platform use.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner and effectively collaborate with product managers, vendors, and marketing teams to support organizational goals and campaign strategies.
- Subject Matter Expert: Stay current with campaign regulations, best practices, and SFMC features. Proactively recommend enhancements and risk mitigations. Train and support SFMC functionality, including ongoing maintenance/troubleshooting.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer Certification
- Deep understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud tools: Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Audience Builder, and Content Builder.
- Proficiency in AMPscript and SQL for dynamic content creation, data segmentation, and automation.
- Strong HTML and CSS skills for developing responsive email templates and landing pages
- Experience managing business units and data workflows
- Strong collaboration & communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with JavaScript for enhanced CloudPages functionality & client-side logic
- Ability to integrate MC with external systems via REST and SOAP APIs
- Analytical skills to analyze data and provide actionable insights
- Additional Salesforce and Marketing Cloud certifications.
- Previous experience in nonprofit organizations or federated models.
- Position may require travel to organizational conferences and events.
