Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in our Dallas, TX office.  Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. 

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepare plan documents and supporting design calculations
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Produce high quality work and implement and maintain QA/QC procedures
  • Oversee the technical aspects of various projects
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and support services
  • Identifies applicable codes, standards or other design requirements
  • Reviews plans and prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents and estimates
  • Performs field reviews and other assessments for use in design
  • Participates in contract bidding and administration and provides limited observation during construction
  • Represent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agencies
  • Prepare, maintain, coordinate project schedules of multiple concurrent projects with design team
  • Develop and track project milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery
  • Make decisions independently in regard to various issues and methods
  • Able to accept and give performance feedback
  • Supervises the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project
  • Mentor and train designers and engineers

Required Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering 
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas (or capable of obtaining)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a project engineer


For preferred Consideration (not required):

  • Previous experience working with clients in the commercial market
  • Previous experience working with clients in the residential market
  • Experience in accounts receivable, invoicing, and overall duties involved in managing a design team
  • Strong presentation skills paired with the ability to coach and motivate others
