As an equipment technician, you are responsible for working on AMAT 9500/XR-80/XR-LeapII/Quantum, Varian Viision80, Varian E500 and Axcelis GSD implanters in the Implant equipment section. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting duties on semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Fast paced manufacturing environment in a clean room setting. You should be flexible to work any shift on a compressed 12-hour shift structure.

Support and be involved with troubleshooting, maintaining and improving Implant equipment, components and assemblies; will assist with all tasks related and assigned to the equipment group.  Has to be willing to learn new responsibilities as required.  Candidate displays teamwork and “can do” attitude as well as positive outlook under high pressure.  Candidate is able to deal with issues and concerns across shifts with different types of technicians, engineers and managers in a professional and constructive manner.


Responsibilities of candidate include:

  • Will work on AMAT 9500, XR-80, XR-Leap II, Quantum III, Varian Viision80, Varian E500, Axcelis GSD implanters.


  • Work closely with equipment and process engineers to meet manufacturing goals.


  • Component level PCB repairs when needed


  • Can trace system level failures between subsystems and quickly isolate root cause failure.


  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or quality system.


  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities.


Will also be responsible or be involved with tool installation, move, hook-up and acceptance as applicable.

Required Experience

  • 42 STEM credits or current enrollment in related degree program, or related equivalent experience. Candidates with semiconductor equipment experience on AMAT XR80/9500/Q3 Implanters, Varian E500 Implanters and Axcelis GSD Implanters preferred.



    Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Understands the use of electrical test equipment (i.e. DVM, Oscilloscope).


  • Semiconductor background with high vacuum field experience preferred. Needs to be flexible and willing to take on all jobs regarding Implant area.


  • Need superb attention to detail and follow safety rule.


  • With a strong ability to learn quickly. Needs to be team-oriented, self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environment.


  • Able to work day/or night shift (12-hour shift structure).
