Job Description
The Indirect Lending Manager is responsible for growing the Credit Union’s consumer loan portfolio through the indirect channels, while managing the loan quality including the inherent risks associated with a consumer loan portfolio.
1) Oversee the Indirect Lending Program including the sales component, loan quality, and all inherent risks associated with the program. Ensures lending operating policies, procedures and standards are in place and consistently applied to produce excellent member service while maintaining high loan quality levels. Is accountable for monitoring progress, processes, and achieving desired results. (30%)
2) Ensure assigned business units are operating efficiently and reliably, are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and rules, have appropriate operating controls to mitigate risk, and are performing at a high level. Monitors and manages credit risk through the use of reporting and analysis for an indirect lending program with over 300+ dealerships, a loan portfolio of over $2.0 billion that includes approximately 30,000 funded loan applications annually. (30%)
3) Oversee the operational processes related to ancillary product cancellations and invoices for indirect loans from dealership that WPCU is partnered with, ensuring adherence to regulatory or legislative requirements are consistently met. (10%)
4) Works closely with internal and external auditors, regulatory agencies, third party lending partnerships, and administers vendor oversight program. (10%)
5) Originates and implements new indirect lending programs that will meet the financial needs of our members, (both current and prospective members) and enhance their financial health. (5%)
6) Develops operating plans and budget as well as success measurements for operating units. Monitors progress and results and is accountable for executing business plans and achieving desired results. (5%)
7) Provides educational information regarding our indirect lending to our employee‐ partners to enhance their knowledge of indirect lending. (5%)
8) Underwrites difficult, complex loans, and resolves issues beyond the ability of underwriting staff. (5%)
Required Skills
The Indirect Lending Manager must possess the following knowledge and skills:
1) A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management, or related field is required.
2) A minimum of three years’ experience in consumer lending at a financial institution is required. Prefer experience in a credit union Consumer Loan Department and/or Indirect Lending Department.
3) A minimum of four years management or supervisory level experience with proven abilities of effectively leading a team.
4) Demonstrated ability to analyze, reason, problem solve, and prioritize work independently.
5) Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and solve problems and / or design recommendations to accomplish business and tactical goals.
6) Demonstrated ability to lead a sales team, monitor and coach individual sales efforts.
7) Demonstrated intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office products
