Software Quality Assurance Tester I

This Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Tester I will contribute to various software quality assurance initiatives. This includes developing and executing test cases, test suites, and test plans, documenting test results, and creating necessary test data. The position will be responsible for tracking and reporting testing progress to the SQA Tester II or SQA Test Lead. Additionally, the role will be involved in defect reporting and will communicate with subject matter experts and IT resources to resolve issues and improve testing processes.

• 1)      Project Activities (90%)

  a)       Develop and execute SQA test cases on projects.

  b)      Translate requirements specifications into actionable test plans/suites/cases. 

  c)       Document testing results and report progress on test case execution including pass/failure. 

  d)      Create / modify test data for test case execution.  

  e)      Provide input into testing work effort estimates as well as work effort estimates to complete open tasks. 

  f)        Provide testing support for implementation “go live” efforts on projects. 

  g)       Investigate and collaborate on defects/quality issues and help determine root cause.

  h)      Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed.  Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls along with recommended solutions to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated.  

  i)        Automate, maintain, and execute low-code/record-and-playback test automation scripts of low and medium complexity.

  j)        Execute cross-browser and cross-device individual and parallel execution of manual test cases and automated test scripts.

  k)       Analyze test automation executions logs and screenshots, identify automation test failures, decipher error messages and take appropriate corrective action. Generate and interpret automation test reports.

  l)        Accountable for the Test Plan/Suite/Cases design efforts of small testing efforts.

  m)    Accountable for the Defect triage, management, and resolution of small testing efforts.

  n)      Publish daily status reports to include test execution status, defect status and KPI. 

  2.   Production Support (10%)

  a)       Investigate and collaborate on the resolution of software defects/quality issues.

  b)      Help determine root cause on system outages and address any related to testing gaps.

  c)       Participate in annual BCP and/or DR testing activities.

  d)      Support regulatory exams by the NCUA/ODFI and Internal Audit activities as directed.

1)      A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Quality Assurance, or a similar discipline is preferred; Candidates with an Associate’s Degree or equivalent work-related experience will also be considered.

2)      1+ years of SQA testing experience; Must have practical experience with small-to-medium enterprise testing efforts.

3)      1+ years of demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office projects (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

4)      AT*SQA Essentials and AT*SQA Agile, ISTQB CTFL, CSQA or similar certification is preferred.

5)      Proven experience with quality assurance testing processes, frameworks, and methodologies.

6)      Experience with cloud, API, automation, or AI testing methodologies is a plus.

7)      Experience with third-party vendor testing is plus.

8)      Strong written and oral communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with business subject matter experts and IT staff.

9)      Prior experience in a Bank, Credit Union, or other financial institution experience is a plus.
