GENERAL SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor will supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production technicians, under the direction of the Director of Production. The Production Supervisor ensure that assignments or events are completed efficiently and correctly.

CORE SCOPE OF POSITION

• Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of production technicians to ensure that the events/shows are produced on time and are of excellent quality.
• Monitors workflow to ensure safe practices, work quality and accuracy.
• Monitors schedules and staffing throughout the event to always ensure proper coverage.
• Observes, trains, coaches, disciplines, and documents team member’s guest service and technical performance.
• Participates in the design, plan, and coordination of special projects to improve, enhance, the production team.
• Assists in staff training in all departmental procedures, rules, regulations, and standards.
• Ensures staff is aware of marketing promotions and changes related to Viejas policies and procedures.
• Oversee show logistics and ensure that high presentation quality and safe practices are always maintained.
• Troubleshoots and solves issues that arise regarding equipment and services. Generates and facilitates the repair/ re-engagement of the equipment or service.
• Ensures that all supplies and equipment will be on the site, assembled and ready to use when required both on Viejas property and outside locations.
• Investigates and resolves guest complaints about production equipment and service in a timely manner while ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Maintains appropriate communication with leadership, with follow-up to ensure completion of tasks that may affect exceptional service delivery.
• Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained.
• Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Interacts with internal and external guests.
• Interacts daily with subordinates and/ or functional peer groups. Interaction normally involves exchanging or presenting information.

SUPERVISION

• Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks at the direction of the Director of Production, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining assigned schedules. A portion of time is normally spent performing individual tasks related to the unit or sub-unit.

Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Proficiency in entertainment AV systems, lighting, electrical distribution, sound, video, and rigging.
• Knowledge of mechanical repair and ability to troubleshoot equipment down to the component level.
• Ability to implement best safety practices.
• Working knowledge of applicable operating systems and hardware.
• Ability to resolve problems efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to work in a professional high-pressure environment while demonstrating and maintaining good personal relation/people skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to multitask and work well under stress.
• Must be a self-starter and able to adjust to change.
• Must be able to work flexible hours during the day or evening including weekends, holidays, and all blackout dates.

Required Experience

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Associate degree preferred.
• California driver’s license required.

EXPERIENCE

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 3 or more years of related experience and/or training.
• Supervisory experience required.
