Cash Services Administrative Specialist

GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs all review procedures and clerical duties associated with the Viejas Casino Title 31 Compliance Program. Reviews and maintains the accuracy of the Variance Database, researches all Cage variances, completes Title 31 paperwork, and cage cash balancing processes on a daily basis. Recommends training and/or corrective action to safeguard casino assets and to prevent further occurrences.
CORE SCOPE OF POSITION
- Reviews and ensures accurate completion of all Title 31 paperwork, in accordance with the Viejas Casino Title 31 compliance program, to include Viejas MICS, Gaming Commission and U.S. Federal Regulations. Submits completed Title 31 documents to the Audit & Compliance department within the specified timeline.
- Creates written non-compliance reports to communicate the potential risks and inefficiencies.
- Identifies team members responsible for noted discrepancies and prepares written reports and forwards the information to their respective Shift Manager. Recommends training and/or corrective action to safeguard casino assets and to prevent further occurrences. Prepares paperwork for corrective actions as needed.
- Reviews and maintains the accuracy of the Variance Database on a daily basis. Investigates variance discrepancies, including coordinating and obtaining surveillance tapes for timely review; completing written reports of observations; and consulting with other Cash Services Administrative Specialists to resolve the loss. Communicates variances status to Cashiers and department management in a timely manner.
- Reviews and processes cage paperwork for accuracy and completeness on a daily basis and forwards to the Audit and Compliance Department. Performs random cash counts on cashier banks as assigned by the cage management.
- Tracks and maintains all daily paperwork generated by the ticket redemption kiosks; reconciles actual inventory versus shift activity reports.
- Analyzes cash inventory maintained in the Cages, Vault, and Kiosks. Makes recommendations to adjust cash inventory as needed.
- Reviews department personnel files and tracking database to ensure accuracy as needed.
- Supports the Audit and Compliance Department in researching and correcting exceptions.
- Performs other operational support duties related to training, casino credit, delivery of supplies, department tracking database maintenance, and ad hoc projects as needed.
- Assists in updating/creating department job task standards and policies and procedures as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of cage and vault processes in order to perform review of processes. Identifies lengthy and outdated processes and assists in improving processes.
- Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
- Adheres to all hygiene and safety standards. Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained.
- Performs all related and compatible duties as assigned.

Required Experience
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- One-year certificate from college or technical school.
EXPERIENCE
- 1 to 2 years of related experience or the equivalent in education and experience.
- Extensive cash-handling and cash-related paperwork processing experience.
- Banking/Casino/Retail experience preferred.
- Chip handling experience preferred.
