GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides support to the department by working closely with supervisor/manager to meet the needs of the internal and external guests. Coordinates and trains team members on work duties and departmental policies and procedures. Performs a variety of duties in general maintenance and housekeeping at the Viejas Outlet Center, Bingo Hall, administrative buildings, and training center.

 

CORE SCOPE OF POSITION

  • Coordinates the work of team members.
  • Develops and maintains scheduling of staff to meet and/or exceed department service requirements.
  • Resolves problems or refers matter to supervisor/manager.
  • Observes and documents team member’s guest service and technical performance.
  • Trains team members on departmental policies and procedures and documents the training.
  • Assists with ensuring that departmental policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensures staff is aware of marketing promotions and changes related to Viejas Enterprises’ policies and procedures.
  • Schedules and completes carpet shampooing and extraction.
  • Maintains all floor equipment in good working order.
  • Maintains professional demeanor and communication.
  • Maintains consistent attendance, punctuality, and appearance that contribute to a high level of team performance and guest service.
  • Responds in a timely manner to trouble calls such as store issues, leaks, lights, restrooms, etc.
  • Responds to maintenance emergencies as needed.
  • Documents call incidences as appropriate.
  • Assists in preparing the facilities for special events, including setting up and taking down chairs for shows in the Show Court and Park.
  • Ensures housekeeping and maintenance equipment are maintained and available for use.
  • Works with Purchasing to order housekeeping and maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Responsible for reading any departmental memos and staying current on any Enterprise and Outlet Center policy or procedure changes.
  • Attends training classes required.
  • Understands and practices good safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Handles cleaning chemicals as directed using proper formula for their safe use at all times. Refrains from depositing harmful products into sewage system.
  • Ensures a clean and safe environment is maintained.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains interior and exterior walls and surfaces by painting, plastering, and/or general repairing, including benches, chairs, and tables. 
  • Maintains, installs, and repairs plumbing systems throughout the facility.
  • Inspects, cleans, repairs, and/or replaces roofs, floor and ceiling tiles.
  • Adjusts heating and air conditioning thermostats.
  • Ensures proper working condition of doors and windows; replaces or repairs as necessary.
  • Inspects buildings, facilities, and equipment to determine needed repairs; makes or recommends repairs or alterations as needed.
  • Washes, scrapes, and sands interior and exterior hand railings and cleans the bronze statues.
  • Cleans/moves furniture and washes windows occasionally.
  • Cleans light fixtures as required.
  • Empties trash cans and dumpsters throughout the center.
  • Picks up and bales cardboard as needed.
  • Assists with estimating, material takeoffs, and maintaining files of specifications.

 

INTERACTION

  • Interacts with guests and peer groups.

 

SUPERVISION

  • Is a working lead, assisting with training, assigning tasks, and monitoring work performance of team members.

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

  • Requires high school diploma.
  • Possesses or acquire certified license to operate trash compactors and cardboard balers.
  • Possesses or acquires license to operate a forklift.
  • Valid California driver’s license preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 more years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience working with small electrical, plumbing, carpentry and/or related building trades.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Knowledge and proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools related to job functions.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to follow direction and work as a team.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
