SUMMARY

Monitors all areas of the property and closely observes a target game, team member or customer. Assures a high standard of integrity and honesty in all casino gaming operations and related support services.  Protects Tribal assets and help ensure the safety and welfare of patrons and team members.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitors all areas of the property and closely observes target game, team member and customer to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and internal controls.
  • Answers and initiate telephone calls concerning casino floor operations and inquires for assistance.
  • Answers radio communications concerning floor operations and inquiries for assistance.
  • Monitors radio traffic for situations that may require surveillance intervention or action.
  • Advises on gaming violations, criminal activity, or persons associated with criminal activity according to the gaming operations manual.
  • Conducts surveillance on all cash operations, theft, loss, or violations of the integrity of gaming.
  • Operates surveillance-related equipment and reports malfunctions or necessary repairs to supervisory staff.
  • Assists management and the investigator with surveillance operations plans to prevent theft, loss, or integrity of gaming.
  • Observes and reports on matters, as directed, concerning gaming and maintaining casino integrity.
  • Generates reports, documents, and videos concerning observed casino operations discrepancies.
  • Conducts video reviews to verify payouts, incidents, etc, upon request.
  • Conducts audits and assists with investigative reviews of activities as assigned.
  • Provides surveillance video to casino management who request to review activities in their area.
  • Maintains surveillance records and logs for documentation purposes.
  • Keeps current on policies and procedures concerning surveillance, gaming and casino operations, including internal control, federal, state, tribal regulations and compact requirements.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Does not provide supervision to others.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 0-1 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of all casino games and surveillance techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills, MS Word and Excel and Telecommunications is desirable.
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and multi-task
  • Ability to work in a high stress environment.
  • Ability to document and testify regarding observations.
  • Keen observation skills and the ability to make quick decisions

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to cigarette fumes. the employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation.
