Support the finance functions and staff; provide support and solutions to continually improve the business analysis functions at the Quinnesec Mill.  This role is designed for a technically capable individual with a strong drive for results and will lead the Mill’s Accounting team and develop our analysts.  This role will manage and focus on improving EBITDA for the mill and the company, will work closely with all levels of the mill and company including manufacturing, sales & marketing and will lead in process improvements and automation and work with business leadership to drive EBITDA improvement.

Required Skills

  • All general ledger, business analysis, and fiber supply administration functions
  • Forecast Cost, Report Actuals and analyze variances for financial results
  • Operating budget preparation
  • Standard Cost revisions
  • Preparation and presentation of project results and analytical data to operations
  • Calculations for Capital Project returns
  • Projects as necessary
  • Design and maintain internal controls
  • Advise, consult and coordinate information with corporate personnel
  • Lead, develop and assist other team members
  • Create department vision and guiding principles to guide and direct the Accounting staff, ensuring the department vision and managing principles are consistent with corporate philosophy, direction, and goals.
  • Manage the performance and development of personnel by setting clear expectations and standards of performance and identifying and providing the necessary skill development training.
  • Working knowledge of internal customers
  • Maximize limited time and resources to produce quality product
  • Working knowledge of external customers

Required Experience

  • BS in Accounting or Finance. MBA, CMA or CPA desired.
  • 7-10 years manufacturing experience. Paper industry experience desired
  • Ability to interpret financial data and standard cost concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Ability to mentor,  motivate and delegate effectively to direct reports
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis in Excel and SAP. All other Microsoft Office products a plus
  • Self-starter. Quick learner.  Motivated to improve self and surroundings. Team player. Ability to embrace and manage change
  • High degree of internal and external customer awareness
  • Understanding of strong internal controls
  • Knowledge of OptiVision, EPS, PI and Plant Applications desired
  • Must have demonstrated line leadership experience & desire to succeed, with strong team orientation
