HealthFitness has a great opportunity for a full-time (40 hours per week, benefits eligible) Aquatics Supervisor within our client's aquatics program located on the campus of MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Aquatic Supervisor position supports the Aquatic Director and Assistant Director in the administration of the Aquatic Center, its staff, programs, and in the coordination of the special events held at the Aquatic Center.  The Aquatic Supervisor assumes functional responsibility for assisting in day-to-day operation of the Aquatic Center with a focus on Lifeguard and Operations.  This position also supervises the administration of informal recreational swimming and diving and building security.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, mentoring, and scheduling of all lifeguard personnel to ensure safety and the quality of programs, practices and events.
  • Manage the deck, supervise staff, facilitate Aquatic programs and open/close building as assigned.
  • Serves as a representative for the Aquatic Program, managing phone calls, answering patron questions, facilitating user groups and directing patrons to appropriate staff.
  • Interprets and assists in the enforcement of policies and procedures of the MIT Recreational Sports Department.
  • Assists aquatic management with current projects.
  • Oversee facility first aid supply inventory.
  • Assist with lifeguard as needed.
  • Serve as Point of Contact as assigned Serve as Building Supervisor as needed.
  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

 

Education, Experience & Certifications:

 

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification through the American Heart Association, Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute.
  • Prior management experience working in aquatics, recreation, athletics, physical education or related field.
  • Certifications: CPR for Professional Rescuer, First Aid and American Red Cross Lifeguard Training.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment.

Preferred:

  • College Degree.
  • Two to five years management experience working in aquatics, recreation, athletics, physical education or related field.
  • Certifications: Certified Pool Operator, SCUBA, Lifeguard Instructor/Trainer and Water Safety Instructor.
