Position Summary
This position supports the Director of Risk Management in executing and improving risk and insurance strategies across all Traylor Construction Group companies. The ideal candidate may come from a construction operations or finance and insurance background and will bring a blend of technical understanding and analytical skills to analyze loss trends, interpret insurance exposure, and coordinate insurance programs. Success in this role requires the ability to translate complex operational or financial data into clear, actionable insights and support project teams and engage insurance and broker partners with clarity and confidence.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Assist with administration of the TCG Master Insurance and project specific programs, including support for annual renewal processes
· Gather and analyze project data to prepare insurance submissions and support underwriting efforts
· Review insurance requirements in contracts and coordinate with brokers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate and adequate coverage
· Conduct and support risk assessments, risk register development, and project risk reviews from pursuit through execution
· Leverage Origami Risk software to streamline data reporting, claims tracking, and risk analysis
· Visit job sites to facilitate risk workshops, broker/underwriter site walks, and general risk mitigation training
· Translate technical and operational information into clear, compelling narratives for the insurance community
· Collaborate with estimating, operations, safety, legal, and other internal teams to promote risk awareness and best practices
· Support strategic initiatives such as captive insurance development and long-term enterprise risk strategy
· Contribute to cost control efforts by helping implement risk management practices that reduce loss and improve coverage efficiency
Skills and Abilities:
· Excellent attention to detail and organization
· Ability to interpret technical information and translate it into accessible language for non-technical audiences
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Comfortable working across departments and balancing multiple priorities
· Familiarity with construction means and methods; field experience is highly valuable
· Confident navigating contract documents
· Comfortable learning and using technology; curiosity with systems and tools is essential; experience with platforms like Origami Risk is a plus
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and escalate risk trends proactively
· Collaborative mindset with a desire to support continuous improvement in risk practices
Required Experience
Education/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field required
· 3–5+ years of experience in risk analysis, insurance, or construction strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to work in both office and project environments
· Regular keyboard/computer use required
· Occasional travel to project sites or industry events
