What you will do:

 

The Sales Financial Planning team is a highly visible department within the Walmart Inc Account Management Team that is responsible for providing strategic and analytical support to executive management for the Wireless Categories at Walmart Inc.  The team also works collaboratively across a variety of functions within TracFone Corporate Office in order to deliver internal goals and develop a financial plan that will drive profitable business for TracFone Wireless Inc.

 

Critical success factors for this position include developing profitable financial strategies for the TracFone business at Walmart Inc.  Develop and own the relationship with Walmart Financial planning department and gain their trust and confidence.  They will provide ongoing performance insights to internal and external stakeholders and be in a position to influence the Buyer and the category direction.  Work to ensure accuracy of Joint Business Plan. This position further positions TracFone as the Thought Leader in the wireless category. 

Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Sales Development: 

 

Work in tandem with Sales Leads to:

  • Build a Sales plan to achieve activation and subscriber targets
  • Identify insights and put strategies in place to capitalize on opportunities
  • Understand Retailer corporate and category specific strategies
  • Understand retailer qualitative performance and goals in order to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop the quantitative portion of a Joint Business Plan with retailers

 

Forecasting

  • Collaborating with Sales Leads and Walmart to develop and maintain a 3-12 month SKU-level forecasting model for:
  • Activations (Gross Adds)
  • New Customers (Adj. Gross Adds)
  • Retailer Unit and Revenue Sales
  • Retailer Phone and BYOP Shipments
  • Collaborating with Sales Leads, Replenishment, Demand Planning and Walmart to develop and maintain a 15-90 day SKU-level forecast for:
  • Retailer Unit and Revenue Sales
  • Retailer Phone and BYOP Shipments
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance and innovate the forecasting process

 

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Master in Retail Link and TracFone internal systems
  • Automate and innovate weekly/daily Activations, Churn, Revenue, sales, profit reports
  • Oversee analytical support for Sales Leads, Buyer and Financial Planner
  • with Corporate Finance team to ensure consistency in measures and data

 

Sales Accounting:

  • Collaborates with Corporate Accounting and Retailer Accounting to ensure accurate cash flow (COOPS, Trailing Credits, Price Protection, etc.)
  • Innovates processes with Corporate Accounting and Retailer to:
  • Minimize accounting post audits
  • Reduce Shortages/Settlements
  • Expedite internal approvals of retailer deductions requests
  • Oversee report out and analysis of Airtime commissions to retailers

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university. Masters preferred.
  • 6 years general data analysis and/or financial analysis. Ideally with focus on shopper/consumer analysis, sales, or marketing research (custom and/or IRI/Nielsen/Retail Link).
  • Key account sales experience preferred
  • Some brand marketing, project management or marketing agency preferred.
  • Ability to thoroughly analyze, and interpret Sales data from varying resources i.e. Retail Link, BI, ThoughtSpot.
