PURPOSE OF POSITION: 

Assure quality control procedures are being applied to all aspects of the product from start to finish. Improve and maintain current quality control system.

 

JOB/TASK FUNCTIONS:

The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position.  However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

 

  • Addresses and follows through on Quality concerns and Corrective Actions.
  • Revises all applicable APQP documentation.
  • Develop and incorporate proper ongoing SPC.
  • Assist Technical Services Manager.
  • Improves and maintains current Quality systems.
  • Understands basic quality principles
  • Produces sample submissions involving initial samples engineering change prototypes and pilots.
  • Other duties as assigned by L&W management.
  • Perform Quality system process audits.
  • Prepare necessary sample submission documentation.
  • Assist APQP group with PPAP and PSW submission.
  • Schedules and conducts meetings with customers, suppliers and plant personnel.
  • Generates and updates customer specific Quality documentation.
  • Understand principles and application of GD&T and the incorporation of it into a control system.
  • Understand contemporary Quality tools.
  • Performs all duties and operates machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, ear plugs, etc.)
  • Able and willing to work any shift assigned, weekends and overtime
  • Regular and predictable attendance required
  • Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Responsible for reading and understanding the IATF16949, ISO9001:2015 and ISO-14001procedures located at K:/winapps/data/TS Team/Quality System Documentation
  • Firm understanding of the APQP process in accordance with TS16949.

 

Education and/or Experience: 

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as reliability, probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Business Judgment:

Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures in a professional and consistent manner. Able to apply common sense understanding and use appropriate judgment in routine business situations with supervisor, co-workers and customers.  Maintain a higher standard of professional conduct and ethics in more complex business situations such as negotiations with customers or presentations to management.

Technical Skills:

Ability to work with the following software packages or programs:

·         Microsoft Office at an intermediate level

·         Microsoft Project at a beginning, level

·         Effective email and electronic communication skills are required

Ability to work with the following data base programs and/or hardware:

·         MQ1 database (or equivalent) at  an intermediate, level

·         QAD database (or equivalent) at an intermediate level

Firm understanding of statistics and statistical software with strong understanding of process capability utilizing data analysis for problem solving and process improvements including reliability and probability.
