To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:
· Maintain plant press capacity files working with plants and sales forecasting to minimize financial risk of unplanned capital spending and ensure proper lead time for program asset acquisitions.
· Provide key input into the development of departmental strategic goals along with identifying key measurable to support the departmental goals.
· Monitor key manufacturing processes for press capacity and demand, while identifying constraints and providing analysis for improvement.
· Collect and organize data for stamping assets and dies to provide current information for each plant.
· Improve press and die data accessibility by stakeholders while also considering future update needs.
· Work with plants to provide customer required capacity data to prove capacity availability for new work before award.
· Consider best fit asset as well as logistics when assigning plant and press manufacturing location to protect company’s financial goals.
· Assist plants with internal and external temporary and permanent offloads.
· Collaborate / communicate with internal stakeholders (sales, estimating, engineering, finance, and operations) to obtain and to ensure current, accurate information is used for planning purposes to meet operational requirements.
· Review and compare data trends to diagnose and address areas of concern.
· Ensure that the relevant data, statistical analysis, and performance metrics are available to internal stakeholders.
This full-time salary-exempt role is a part of our Operations team and reports to the EVP of Operations.
Required experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering, master’s degree preferred.
- Three (3) to Five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with experience in a metal’s environment preferred, or a combination of degree and experience.
- Specialized knowledge and the ability to train and mentor others in formal problem-solving techniques such as Kaizen, value stream mapping, JIT synchronous, SMED quick die change, etc.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Intermittent Excel knowledge
