- Responsible for the integrity and maintenance of accounts payable ledgers, aging, related
financial systems, and company directed programs, including (but not limited to the following):
o Daily posting, reconciliation, and storage of customer/vendor and intercompany invoices
o Investigating and resolving exceptions for non-matching items, and pursuing past due accounts
o Liaising with customer/vendors and intercompany partners to ensure all transactions are properly executed and supported, including chargebacks, retros, remittance detail, etc.
o Creating and/or applying customer/vendor and intercompany retros as needed.
o Directly interfacing with the Sales and/or Purchasing departments as well as Customers/Vendors and intercompany partners to resolve pricing discrepancies
o Reviewing and resolving discrepancies related to prototype and tooling pre and non-production payable issues, auditing of corporate Purchasing Card (PCard) expense report activity, including investigation, follow up and resolution of any discrepancies
o Performance of all month-end closing procedures related to the above items to ensure the integrity, completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the underlying monthly published financial statements
- Participating in the development of departmental strategic goals and related key measurables
- Collaborating in the review and modification of internal control procedures, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and business practices and processes to ensure operational integrity
- Driving system process improvements and changes (e.g., ERP implementations, upgrades, etc.)
- Leading projects and team assignments for general accounting and financial analysis activities
- Supporting the broader Treasury and Finance functions with preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Responsible for special projects as assigned
- Participating in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities
- Maintaining a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization
- Adhering to federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations, and laws. Assisting with the creation of acceptable standards in Finance.
This full-time salary-exempt role is a part of our corporate finance team and reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.
Required experience:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent work experience
- One (1) to three (3) years of accounts payable or similar experience
- Understanding of financial systems and general ledger accounting
- Practical experience in audit procedures and processes, financial reporting, accounting, variance analysis, and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of QAD and Consolidation systems a plus (or similar integrated manufacturing systems
- Experience with corporate banking platforms, such as CashPro (Bank of America)
