Maintenance Manager

Maintenance / Engineering Manager works within the team consisting of Engineering, Manufacturing & Maintenance. The Maintenance / Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the daily activities of the Maintenance and Engineering Team, overseeing the continuous improvement of department activities and equipment efficiency.

Leadership Responsibilities:

 • Directly supervise employees in the Maintenance and Engineering Department.

• Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and culture.

• Responsible for Interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Work closely with production management to schedule maintenance activities based on equipment, manpower, and spare parts availability.

• Organizes the PM workforce to maximize the utilization of Labor.

• Develops and/or initiates training activities to better individuals as well as team knowledge and abilities.

• Utilize 8D and problem resolution for qualities issues related to equipment performance.

• Responsible for the maintenance annual budget. Development of Maintenance checks, training, and work instructions.

 Managerial Responsibilities:

Manages subordinate supervisors and/or other colleagues identified on organization chart.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the quality and engineering departments.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

This Full-Time, Salary role is a part of our Autokiniton - Oakland team and reports to the Plant Manager.

·      Bar Code Reader Devices, Bill of Material Data Function, Cylinder Handling, General Motors Release System, MRP Data Function, MRP Introduction, Part Containment, Physical Inventory Data Function, Production Scheduling, Process Sheet Reading & Changes, Q1-2001, Root Cause Analysis, Routing Data Function, Scale Operation, SMED Training, Tagging, TPM Training, Value Stream Mapping

  • GM quality required documentation as it relates to process and product and the company’s Quality Management System.
  • QAD- Custom GL Report Writer, Expenditure Report, Overview, Raw Material Entry, Scanning

 

Education and/or Experience: 

 

• At least 10 years of Maintenance experience required, automotive industry preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the Maintenance field required.

• Experience with CMMS programs – preferably QAD, MES,

• Thorough knowledge of maintenance concepts, including electrical, Hydraulic& Mechanical repairs and PLC programs and troubleshooting, robots ( Fanuc 2005- 2020 models) Ped welds.

 

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

 

Business Judgment:

Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures in a professional and consistent manner. Able to apply common sense understanding and use appropriate judgment in routine business situations with supervisor, co-workers, and customers.  Maintain the ultimate example of business judgment and professional conduct at all times.  The ability to understand and strictly follow both internal and external business ethics and standards

 Technical Skills:

Ability to work with the following software packages or programs:

·         Microsoft Office at a intermediate level

·         Microsoft Project at a intermediate level

·         Effective email and electronic communication skills are required

·         Ability to work with the following data base programs and/or hardware:

·         QMS database at a basic level

·         QAD database at a intermediate level

Ability to work with the following tools or machinery

  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Scales
  • CMM and/or Faro Arm
