Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Repair associate to join our team. As a Tool and Die Repair associate, you will be responsible for designing, building, and repairing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. Your expertise in machining and metalworking will be essential in ensuring the production of high-quality parts and components.

REPORTS TO / SHIFT / PAY:

This full-time, hourly role is a part of our Tooling team and reports to the Tooling Manager.

$32.50 an hour, plus $1.50 shift premium - 2nd shift - 2pm-10pm

$32.50 an hour, plus $1.00 shift premium - 3rd shift - 10pm-6am

 

Duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces
  • Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, or EDM machines to fabricate parts
  • Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using hand tools or precision measuring instruments
  • Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects using precision measuring instruments
  • Test completed tools or dies to ensure that they meet specifications
  • Troubleshoot issues with tooling or equipment to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with engineers or tool designers to develop new tooling designs or modify existing ones
  • Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance and repairs
  • Connects wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components.

Required Skills

  •  

SKILLS

  • Experience repairing large dies both inside presses and outside presses
  • Proficiency in hydraulics systems
  • Excellent English language skills for clear communication
  • Welding experience for fabrication or repair work
  • Electrical knowledge for troubleshooting purposes
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Journeyman card preferred - $2.00 per hour additional for Journeyman
