Family Liaison/ Community Outreach Worker will be responsible to assist with the coordination and process of recruitment, enrollment, and placement of children in the program. Enroll and maintain required enrollment and average daily attendance figures. Complete all necessary paperwork and comply with all OEC, NAEYC, DCF, and other funding guidelines. The intake process will include making direct contact with families and local agencies for referrals and scheduling, while ensuring all intake data is accurate, complete, readable, and scanned into the database system. Oversee the promotional portion of a recruitment plan with a team approach with the Little Learners management team, having direct contact with clients, staff and community partners. Responsible for recruiting and completing intake application process for potential eligible families. Provide direct services to center based families, which include social services, health, and parent involvement. Must have compassion and understanding for the needs of children and families from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds. Being able to use various software and having a detailed comprehensive approach is a critical component to this position.
Required Skills
· B.A. Degree in one of the following; Social Work, Human Development & Family Relations, Psychology, Sociology and Applied Sciences or related field preferred with one year related work experience; OR Associates Degree in above or related field with three years of related work experience.
· Must possess strong time management, data management and computer skills, including the ability to learn and utilize relevant software programs.
· Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), customer service and interpersonal skills.
· Required to be flexible to work various hours including evenings and weekends for community events as needed.
· Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health statement signed by a physician, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner completed within twelve (12) months before the date of employment, and every thirty-six (36) months thereafter.
· Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally
· Possess a valid driver’s license, good driving record and access to daily, reliable and insured transportation.
· Must have or obtain and maintain CT child care first-aid, and infant and child CPR, and medication administration certification.
· Must have or obtain within 90 days of hire the Care 4 Kids Health and Safety Training
· Minimum of 18 years of age
· Spanish speaking preferred.
