JOB SUMMARY: This position will work closely with a second attendant to set up the shelter, ensure that all policies are followed by all staff and shelter attendees for the duration of the shelter’s opening, and clean-up after the shelter closes each morning. This role involves cultivating relationships with other employees and shelter attendees, managing multiple priorities at once, and ensuring the safety of all shelter attendees.
This position is in downtown Norwich.
The position is per diem - they work 12 hour shifts at $23 per hour
Required Skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least one year of combined education and experience in the areas of social work, mental health provision, substance abuse counseling, community action, or any other related field. Proven ability to verbally communicate in an effective manner, exercise clear decision-making abilities and empathy, and an ability to work effectively in partnership with other providers and attendants.
