This position works directly with One-Stop customers. Responsibilities include; meeting recruitment and contractual performance goals for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities (WIOA) Adults and Dislocated Worker Grant. This individual must possess high energy and motivation to assist customers in meeting their employment goals. He/She should be a self-starter who can work independently, be well organized, able to multitask, and prioritize projects. The Workforce Advisor provides WIOA core and registered services to One Stop customers. These services include but are not limited to career assessment and guidance services, workshops, assessment of education and training needs, information and referrals, coordination of support services, job search skills assistance, job development, follow-up and retention services.
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree plus three years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of One Stop services, partners, and programs, assessment techniques, career planning resources, job development and the business community in Eastern Connecticut. Spanish speaking preferred. Excellent customer service, computer and communication skills required.
