Integrated Reading and Writing Adjunct Faculty

Tallahassee Community College announces openings for the following adjunct faculty position in the Transitional Studies Programs for the 2021-22 academic year.                

MAJOR FUNCTION:  Adjunct faculty will provide instruction, service and support of college policies and procedures, along with opportunities for professional development.  

Adjunct Faculty: Bachelor’s degree or higher in English (or a related field) with demonstrated competencies in reading, or a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Reading (or a related field) with demonstrated competencies in English. Competencies include a certification or endorsement, college coursework or classes, curriculum development and instruction, etc. Seeking instructors who are available to teach daytime classes, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.   

In addition to the minimum qualifications listed for this position, all prospective adjunct faculty are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics: 

  1. Commitment to student retention and success
  2. Commitment to development and assessment of student learning
  3. Use of technology and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning, including distance learning and alternative delivery systems
  4. Willingness to support a diverse population of learners inside and beyond the classroom
  5. Ability to work in a participatory and collegial setting.
