Primary Purpose: The Development & Alumni Engagement Specialist supports Stetson University by supporting external facing team members in the department and across the college. Serving as a member of the Development & Alumni Engagement Team, the Development & Alumni Engagement Specialist will coordinate alumni and donor relationship management and will assist with organization and management of fundraising and programmatic initiatives. In alignment with Stetson’s Strategic Priorities, the Development & Alumni Engagement Specialist will provide support to team members who manage relationships and connections that will support student success and wellness while ensuring students receive an education that prepares them for their careers through experiential and integrative opportunities. This position will be working from our historic Gulfport campus with the ability to also work remotely.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provides support for the department and other external facing staff and faculty in conjunction with partners across the college. Support to include coordinating pre-and-post meeting follow up.
- Serves as project coordinator for programs and initiatives that will support alumni engagement and fundraising efforts. The Specialist will be responsible for implementing a system for monitoring progress on initiatives and communicating effectively with team members.
- Serve as liaison with other departments/divisions throughout the college, including Dean's Office, Career Services, Centers and Institutes, DeLand Division colleagues, and faculty and staff
- Helps ensure relationship records are properly updated
- Helps ensure smooth operations and excellent donor stewardship
- Assists Department Head with calendar, scheduling meetings, administrative support, etc.
- Provides back-up support to team members as needed
- May assist with departmental events or functions

Work Environment:
- Work duties performed primarily in temperature-controlled office, with frequent customer interaction.
- Department team members can work remotely up to two days each week
Required Experience
Required Qualifications: This position requires:
- Prefer 2+ years of project coordination and/or administrative experience in a higher education setting or other non-profit organization, corporate administration, information and office management, or related field.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Adobe Acrobat.
