The Information Technology Support Specialist III will report to the Executive Director of IT and is responsible for providing training, excellent customer service, and effective operation of all aspects of user support on campus. The I.T. Support Specialist III is primarily responsible for overseeing the end-user experience of faculty, staff, and students; training; desktop support; event and classroom technology support; computer setup and deployment; process documentation; and invoices. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, customer-oriented, always willing to help, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employment duties include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise desktop support and classroom technology areas and ensure that they are operating in an efficient and acceptable manner
- Assist in all areas of deployment operations, including training, equipment maintenance, purchases, and customer complaints
- Create and maintain appropriate computer usage policies
- Assist the Executive Director of IT in the planning and implementation of operational strategic plans and budgets
- Assist in the administration of various software packages deployed on campus
- Assist in the support of the University printing solutions
- Assist in Disaster Recovery planning and management
- Perform other site and position-specific functions as assigned

Required Experience
- A minimum of 3 years experience in high-level support and experience in document administration and hardware/software
- Knowledge supporting a managed and BYOD environment, some active directory and cloud environments, i.e., AWS/Azure preferred
- Any combination of acceptable education and experience that has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position may be considered
Work Environment: Requires some physical effort, i.e., some standing and walking, frequent light lifting (10 - 15 pounds), and manual dexterity in the operation of office equipment in which manipulative skills and eye-hand coordination are essential ingredients of productive operations. Tasks may involve extended periods at a keyboard and PC monitor. Perceptual demands for sound, form, texture, and depth.
