Specific Job Title: Adjunct Faculty
Reports to: Department Chairpersons
Campus: Queens and maybe occasional Manhattan or online
Job Summary:
All departments within the Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University seek applicants for adjunct faculty positions to begin the Spring 2025 semester and beyond. We are seeking adjunct faculty for daytime and/or nighttime courses at both our Queens campus (8000 Utopia Parkway) and Manhattan campus (101 Astor Place). The needs for each department are noted below.
- Accountancy & Taxation: General need for coverage.
- Business Analytics and Information Systems: Seeking candidates with expertise in Data Visualization, Sports Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Computer Language (Python), and Prescriptive Analytics. Proficiency in either R or Python is required for all the Business Analytics areas. Seeking candidates in the following Information Systems areas: Business Data Communication and Network, Computer and Network Security, Structured Query Language (SQL), and Advanced MS Office (Excel and Access).
- Economics & Finance: Seeking candidates with expertise in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and/or topics related to poverty and income inequality. For finance, we seek candidates with expertise in Corporate Finance, Investments, Banking, and/or Real Estate.
- Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance, and Actuarial Science: Seeking candidates with expertise in Risk Management, Insurance, and/or Actuarial Science.
- Law: General need for coverage in business law.
- Management: General need for coverage.
- Marketing: General need for coverage.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The primary responsibility for this position is teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students. Classes are in person and in rare cases online, both synchronously and asynchronously.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirements for candidates is a master’s degree in the field or at least a minimum of five years of significant work experience in the field.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the pay per three-credit course range for these positions is $5,000-8,500 depending on work experience and degrees earned.
