Adjunct Instructor or Adjunct Assistant Professor - Department of Chemistry

 

The primary responsibility for this position is teaching. The needs of the department will determine the courses. The usual needs are for general chemistry (lecture, lab and recitation) and organic chemistry (lecture, lab and rectation), however advanced courses will be considered that meet program needs.

 

Most classes are in-person (at the address: 8000 Utopia Parkway, Queens, NY 11439), but some classes are online, both synchronously and asynchronously. For asynchronous classes, a certificate is required.

 

Qualifications:  Applicants should possess a master’s degree in chemistry or a closely related field. Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of teaching experience in chemistry. It is expected that the position will be renewable. High-quality teaching is essential for the renewal of the position for the subsequent years. The initial rank depends on the highest degree of the candidate and the availability of the documented experience. The hire-on rate is $950 per credit for candidates without Ph.D. and $1050 per credit for candidates with a Ph.D.
