Division/Department Information   

St. John’s University, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking an Assistant Clinical Professor with ambulatory care expertise to join the pharmacy practice faculty in the Department of Clinical Health Professions located in Queens, New York. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position. The candidate is expected to teach didactic and experiential pharmacy courses in a 0-6 PharmD Program. A major component of this position is the establishment of ambulatory care services at an affiliated clinical site where the candidate will precept Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences. In this role, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with pharmacy colleagues and colleagues from other disciplines, maintain a clinical practice site, remain actively involved in professional organizations, maintain scholarship in their field, and actively seek opportunities for and participate in faculty governance. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop an innovative clinical practice in an ambulatory care setting and serve as a preceptor for students during advanced pharmacy practice experiences.
  • Teach didactic and recitation courses in the classroom.
  • Provide service on departmental and college committees.
  • Participate in departmental and faculty council meetings.
  • Fulfill the role of a faculty member in teaching, scholarship and service.

  

Qualifications 

Education/Specialty, License/Certification

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
  • PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency
  • PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Practice Residency or comparable experience
  • At least one year of teaching experience preferred
  • New York State pharmacy license will be required
  • Preference will be provided to candidates who demonstrate scholarship (e.g., publications, national presentations) and active participation in community and/or professional organizations

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $110,000 - $115,000.  St. John’s University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
