Campus Visit Coordinator

Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management Events, the Campus Visit Coordinator is responsible for ensuring prospective students and their families have an exceptional experience during their visit to campus.



Based out of the Queens campus, the Campus Visit Coordinator is expected to:

  • Provide daily Information Sessions to campus visitors.
  • Work collaboratively with Admission staff to ensure a positive, seamless, and memorable experience for all campus visitors.
  • Prepares materials such as name tags, agendas, and information packets for campus visitors, as needed.
  • Greets visitors and provides a welcoming “home base” while they are on campus.
  • Becomes efficient in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software to effectively match prospective and accepted students to Student Ambassadors prior to their scheduled tours.
  • Assists with answering phones and emails.
  • Assists in planning large open houses, accepted student events, and on-campus visit events.
  • Suggests strategies for continual improvement of the campus visit experience.
  • Provides additional support to admissions staff including data entry, telephone work, and mail distribution.
  • Represent the University in a manner consistent with University and department expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service, admissions or higher education preferred.
  • Experience in customer service is required.
  • Excellent computer skills, experience with data management, and intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office products, database basics, and advanced e-mail and calendar knowledge.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to make a positive first impression
  • Excellent prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with outstanding detail orientation despite frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to manage student workers and create effective outcomes.
  • Strong problem solving and quick decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with the admissions team and departments across campus.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination preferred.
  • Experience in a higher education setting is a plus.



  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Understanding of discretion related to handling confidential information is required.
  • Flexibility to work occasion evening and weekends is required.
  • Knowledge of Ellucian Banner and Technolutions Slate is preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities with short notice and changing deadlines is preferred.

Expected hours of work:

This is a full-time position with a 35 hour work week. Standard days and hours of work are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. through 4:30pm. During peak visit weeks, work days are Tuesday – Saturday, 8:30 a.m. through 4:30pm.


This position is subject to a comprehensive background screen, with employment contingent upon satisfactory results. If access to a University vehicle is required for the position, a DMV check for driving record and valid driver's license is also required.
