The Psychology Department offers an undergraduate major and minor in Psychology. We also offer a combined B.A./M.A. in Psychology, as well as combined degrees with Criminology and Justice and Business Administration.

Responsibilities and Course Information:

PSY659 Psychological Measurement and Scaling (One section)

  • This is a three-credit graduate course taken primarily by our MA students. This course will introduce students to issues and techniques in developing and evaluating psychological measures. Topics include generating items, item/test analysis, and structural equation modeling. This course is designed to provide students with the conceptual and technical skills necessary to develop and evaluate psychological tests and to understand psychometric measurement.
  • Meet students in person once per week for two hours to lecture on course topics. Administer and grade assignments and exams.  

 

Qualifications 

  • Doctoral Degree in Psychology or related fields
  • Strong skills and knowledge about research design, implementation, and data analysis
  • High level writing and reasoning skills
  • Familiarity with CANVAS and R
  • Ideally the instructor will have taught a similar course previously

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the per credit salary is $1,906.
