Terms of Employment: Part-Time, hours vary and may include evenings and weekend hours as determined by the college.
Compensation: $6,000 per year. Salary is for the 2026-27 fiscal year, prorated based on hire date
Classification: Contracted, Limited Leadership

Job Summary: This position is responsible for assisting the head coach. Position assists with conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student athletes in game strategies and techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach with overall team management, including but not limited to recruitment and retention of student athletes, coordination of team practices, monitoring academic progress of athletes and preparing the team for competition.
- Represent SC4 in a professional and positive manner on campus, in the community, and at sponsored events/contests.
- Responsible for behavior and well-being of student athletes while on school-sponsored trips.
- Work collaboratively with the head coach to maintain compliance with college eligibility rules.
- Function as a promotional agent for the college and team, in collaboration with college staff, to get local, state, and national recognition.
- Assist head coach with coordination and oversight of athletic camps.
- Includes, but not limited to, compliance with Michigan’s Sports Concussion Law, oversight of camp workers and/or volunteers.
- Attend meetings as required by the Director of Athletics.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received: Under the general supervision of the Head Coach.
Education/Experience:
- Associate’s degree in a related field and/or extensive successful coaching or playing experience at high school varsity level or higher required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with student activities and a willingness to work with students in a service capacity required.
- Strong oral and written communication and motivational skills.
- Ability to work as a team member with the College community, to include students, staff, faculty, administration and other athletic teams on campus.
