- Partner with counterparts across the organization to share lessons learned, promote consistency, and align on best practices.
- Workflow Optimization
- Oversee scheduling, task assignments, and resource allocation for Field Techs across multiple projects.
- Ensure adherence to quality control standards, enforcing accuracy and consistency across all deliverables.
- Monitor team performance, address inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
- Track progress against schedules and escalate systemic issues to VDC leadership when necessary.
- Technology Deployment
- Stay current with emerging VDC field technologies and promote adoption across the team.
- Oversee tool and equipment procurement, calibration, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure integration of VDC technologies into field workflows, providing structured training to onsite field personnel.
- Change Management
- Support VDC leadership in rolling out new practices, ensuring smooth adoption in the field.
- Lead communication of updated procedures and expectations across the VDC Field Tech team.
- Coach and mentor staff through evolving workflows, promoting adaptability and resilience.
- Reinforce organizational priorities and provide team feedback to AEC leadership for continuous improvement.
- Support and Documentation
- Conduct annual performance reviews, career development planning, and structured feedback for Field Tech staff.
- Document lessons learned, workflow updates, and technology adoption to strengthen team capabilities.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately to ensure engagement and professional growth.
- Strategic Planning & Governance
- Provide input into Team staffing, resourcing, and budget discussions while final accountability remains with the Senior VDC Manager.
- Surface operational insights from the field to inform long-term planning and strategy.
- Exercise independent judgment in supervisory decisions that impact day-to-day operations.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- A proactive, “can do” mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to guide a multi-level Field Tech team.
- Clear and effective communication, able to engage field staff, project stakeholders, and Operations leadership.
- Practical knowledge of VDC layout, surveying technologies, and construction workflows.
- Hands-on expertise with VDC implementation and field technology platforms.
- Proven ability to resolve issues by balancing technical input, operational constraints, and project demands.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
What you bring to the table:
