POSITION SUMMARY

 

 

We are seeking a strategic IT leader to oversee our HCM & Payroll Technologies team within the Corporate IT department. In this role, you will lead a team of business analysts, consultants, and HR/Payroll subject matter experts to implement and deliver new solutions, optimize business processes, and support day-to-day operations.

You will be responsible for the support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our enterprise HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and Time Tracking platforms. Acting as the primary liaison between IT and HR/Payroll leadership, you will ensure these teams have secure, scalable systems that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

This role requires a proactive, relationship-driven leader with deep HR and Payroll technology expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate complex business needs into practical technical solutions.

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

 

HR & Payroll Systems Leadership

  • Serve as the IT system owner for enterprise HCM and Payroll platforms
  • Partner with HR and Payroll leaders to understand their business problems, identify their needs and provide solutions
  • Manage vendor relationships and escalate platform performance concerns
  • Oversee platform configuration, upgrades, user access, and vendor support
  • Identify and implement process automation and system integration opportunities
  • Stay current on HR/payroll technology trends and compliance requirement

Business Support

  • Act as a trusted advisor and a business relationship manager to HR and Payroll teams, offering technologo solutions to their business needs
  • Oversee the effort to support the business users and resolve their issues, improve user experience, and drive operational efficiency
  • Manage vendor relationships and escalate platform performance concerns. 

Project Support

  • Collaborate with project managers and business stakeholders to define system roadmaps and enhancements
  • Partner with HR and Payroll leadership to define annual technology goals and tactical plans
  • Lead small and mid-size technology initiatives
  • Document business requirements, process flows, and functional designs
  • Participate in cross-functional projects as a subject matter expert

What you’ll need to be successful:

 

 

  • Proven experience supporting HR Payroll systems
  • Direct experience with complex union/CBA payroll
  • Strong people managemet, project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to dissect and resolve complex business problems
  • Ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and drive initiatives to completion
  • Experience managing SaaS platforms, system configurations, and vendor relationships
  • Familiarity with IT organizational structures, methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), and governance processes

 

 

What you bring to the table:

 

 

  • 7+ years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in leadership or management roles
  • 3+ years of experience supporting large and complex HR or Payroll functions.  Direct experience with complex union/CBA payroll is required for this role
  • Experience with enterprise HCM (e.g., Workday, Dayforce, UKG Pro) and payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Dayforce, Workday Payroll)
  • Skilled in leading cross-functional teams and balancing multiple priorities
  • Experience translating HR and payroll compliance requirements into effective technical solutions
  • Strong background in SaaS platforms, system upgrades, and change management
  • Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks, SDLC, and Agile/Waterfall methodologies
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and evolving environment

Pay:  Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Colorado/New York City/California/Washington, this ranges from $102,000.00-$191,000 plus annual incentive, benefits and retirement program as outlined above.
