POSITION SUMMARY

 

 

The Sr. Business Analyst is a key member of the Business Operations Technology team.   This role is process-driven and business-focused, aiming to solve payroll challenges through technology and process improvements.

 

This role is responsible for the support, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our payroll systems (COINS Payroll) under the direction of other senior members of the team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, bridge the gap between payroll and IT.  This person will contribute to the successful support of the payroll solution and the implementation of additional functions/features in the payroll system. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, construction payroll expertise, and experience with COINS ERP software or other HRIS / payroll platforms.

 

This role will report to the Director of IT.

This role requires curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering effective payroll solutions.

 

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

Coins Payroll Solution and User Support

 

  • Use your business analyst skill, your knowledge, and expertise to support and assist our COINS Payroll uses.  You will work with them to trouble shoot their issues to ensure accurate and timely weekly payroll.  You will review and analyze their requests/demands and propose a solution that will address their needs.  You might be required to work cross-functionally with other team members and colleagues to find the optimal solution.
  • Your core responsibility will include:
  • Direct interaction with the end users to capture their business issues and document their needs.
  • Utilize our support application (ZenDesk) to track the requests, problems, and resolutions from submission to closure.
  • If any requests need to be escalated, manage the escalation process with our vendor to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner.

 

Application Management

 

  • Perform end-user account administration such as application permission and approval, user provisioning, user deprovisioning, security setup, role permission, etc.
  • Perform other business data maintenance (e.g., data clean up, data update, etc.)

 

Project Tasks

 

  • Assist other team members in gathering business requirements and document business processes. Participate in project teams and execute discrete project tasks such as business case analysis, functional and design requirement gathering, scenario validation, end-user go-live support, testing and verification, etc.
  • Lead small internal projects or initiatives, KTLO efforts.  Work with other team members to solicit feedback.

 

 

What you’ll need to be successful:

 

  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in payroll processes.
  • Experience with COINS Payroll or other HRIS / payroll platforms.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into manageable solutions.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a balance of business knowledge, construction payroll expertise, and software solutions.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to plan and adhere to project schedules.

 

What you bring to the table:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. Alternatively, five years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, or Payroll may fulfill this requirement. Three years of progressive construction payroll experience can also substitute for the degree.
  • A Minor in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Information Systems is preferred, and relevant IT/IS experience is highly desirable.
  • Engineering or Construction industry payroll experience is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in at least one Payroll/ERP solution is required, such as UKG Payroll, Ceridian Dayforce, or COINS Payroll.
  • Experience in end-user IT support is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts.
  • Collaborative problem-solving skills to effectively analyze and resolve complex payroll issues with the Payroll department.
