Senior Sales Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Sales Engineer role is responsible for designing and managing a smaller project and serves as a technical resource for customer account development through engineering expertise, estimating, and other functions to perform design-build and other engineering-centric services. The candidate will be under the direction of Professional Engineers and will have the opportunity to work toward professional licensure. This role will directly support the engineering and project management needs for our Philadelphia Division.
What you’ll do:
- Serves as a technical resource in the project and plays a role in developing, proposing, designing, and project managing the assigned project, from inception to closeout.
- Proactively resolves issues, problems and provides information and advice as needed.
- Develops client relationships by providing project status updates to clients and management. Participates in project meetings with internal departments.
- Develops budget analysis reports, cost, and revenue projections, change orders, and other reports as necessary for assigned projects.
- Performs more complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, etc.
- Prepares preliminary redline design layouts for estimating.
- Works with applicable internal and external stakeholders to ensure Code compliance.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Solid financial acumen, including project budgets and analysis and revenue projections
- Practical understanding of mechanical system design, including load calculations, equipment selections, airflow, hydronics, steam systems, etc.
- Ability to effectively interact with customers, field staff, management, etc.
- Solid project management skills
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Excellent multi-tasking, organization, and prioritization skills
- Ability to write clear and concise proposals
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years experience in Engineering
- Proven effective project Management and estimating experience
- Solid MS Office Suite experience, including Excel
- Intermediate - Advanced Revit and AutoCAD skills
