Commissioning Manager
Preconstruction
POSITION SUMMARY
The Commissioning Manager is responsible for leading and managing the commissioning process, establishing project milestones and identifying critical paths to accomplish successful integration of commissioning activities.
What you’ll do:
- Manages quality control process for various projects
- Partners with owners’ agent to meet start-up and integration requirements
- Oversees commissioning process at the project site
- Develop and maintain QA/QC project level standard
- Coordinates equipment startup dates and schedules with vendors as required
- Partners with QA to ensure systems and equipment will be ready for startup and commissioning
- Schedules and attends commissioning meetings and works with Manager to resolve issues
- Monitors team and validates project work to ensure all work is included in contract documents
- Oversees QA Coordinator to ensure inspections and reports are timely
- Administer BIM 360 Field and ensure team is utilizing BIM 360 field tool update startup and commissioning items and communicating to applicable management
- Provides training to project crew as needed
- Oversees and submits required documentation of tests and final inspections to secure acceptance of installed systems and ensures owner training
- Partners with on-site personnel to provide and manage equipment and systems for timely completion of scheduled tasks
- Provides trouble shooting and problem solving as needed
- Monitors status of projects and incorporates approved changes as needed
- Partners with Detailing to ensure accurate install/fab and as-built drawings
- Coaches, mentors, and develops staff; provides performance feedback
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ability to set deadlines and adhere to project schedules
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to coordinate projects
- Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Excellent working knowledge of HVAC and control systems required
- General construction project work-flow knowledge
- Ability to motivate and lead employees
- Excellent knowledge of BIM 360 Field tool
What you bring to the table:
- BS or BA degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred, or applicable experience
- 8+ years’ experience, including 3+ years’ people
management
