Shenandoah University’s School of Nursing is accepting applications for a Faith Community Nursing Coordinator located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.
Purpose/Essential Job Function:
Develop, market, and promote Shenandoah University’s (SU) EWCSON Faith Community Nursing (FCN) Foundations and Coordinators course curriculum at SU.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops FCN educational activities, including at least one faith community nursing course per year
- Serves as a consultant and reports to the Dean of EWCSON related to FCN education activities.
- Manage and prepare the FCN curriculum's annual budget; demonstrates skill with financial statements.
- Seeks opportunities for collaboration within SU and with Valley Health, the Local Parish Nursing Network & other organizations to ensure the FCN program is marketed and promoted in a manner that enables program growth and quality assurance.
- Attend monthly Parish Nurse Network Meetings, in conjunction with the Program Coordinator for Valley Health.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Current RN licensure in the State of Virginia, as applicable.
- Basic preparation in parish/faith community nursing (FCN) is desired; Coordinator preparation is preferred.
- Clinical nursing experience.
- Faith Community nursing experience preferred.
- Understanding of current nursing practice trends relating to FCN.
- Knowledge of current health trends, nursing issues such as clinical knowledge and expertise, and educational processes such as adult education and educational design.
- Must possess excellent verbal communication skills as well as written communication skills.
- Demonstrates strong positive interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates leadership abilities: relates to others in a caring, constructive, spiritual, and positive manner.
- Demonstrates skills in planning, organizing, and managing professions/specialties in complex functions and processes.
- Mastery of basic computer skills, specific software programs, technology, and equipment commonly used to facilitate learning in the education setting.
- Ability to monitor and maintain a budget for faith community nursing activities.
