Shenandoah University’s Department of School of Business is accepting applications for a Student Services Coordinator. This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.
Position Overview:
To coordinate, under the supervision of the Dean and Associate Dean, student services for both undergraduate and graduate students within the School of Business at Shenandoah University. This position requires the hired person to be physically present to work at our Winchester main campus.
Job responsibilities will vary based on the tasks and projects that need to be accomplished to further the mission of the School of Business which is “to educate its students to become successful, principled leaders with a global perspective,” but will include:
- Managing the experiential learning fund usage and maintaining records of student use
- Maintaining select student files assigned to them for both graduate and undergraduate students
- Evaluation of transcripts for purposes of transfer business school credit for undergraduate students
- Assist in reviewing graduate applications
- Assist in preparation of semester class schedules
- Answer inquiries from prospective students both at the graduate and undergraduate level
- Participate on committees as assigned by the Dean and/or Associate Dean
- Assist in the clearing of students for graduation
- Assist with registration of students, course schedule adjustments, and other issues as needed
- Advise graduate students for purposes of course planning
- Provide support to faculty members as needed and directed by supervisors
- Perform other functions as assigned by the Dean and/or Associate Dean
Required Skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
- Must have knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills
- Must have an eye for detail
- Must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software as well as Google apps and emerging office technologies
- Must be flexible and willing to work occasional evenings and/or weekends
- Must be able to work effectively on a team
- Experience in an educational environment preferred but not required
