The Department of Campus Safety at Shenandoah University is seeking qualified candidates for a Shift Supervisor. This is a full-time benefitted position located on our main campus in Winchester, VA.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises, leads, and manages Campus Security Officers during their assigned shifts.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress and completion. Reviews the Pass on Book daily. Hold daily shift briefings. Supervise authorized student room searches. Maintain a professional, neat, and clean appearance of all under their charge. Check all paperwork for completeness and accuracy.
- Monitor and become proficient in operating the Lennel electronic door locking system, the Livesafe application and the Omnilert notification process. Inventory all keys on a daily basis for accountability. Make both emergency and non-emergency notifications to the Director, Assistant Director and all others as required.
- Conduct investigations as required including but not limited to employee internal affairs and student conduct. Initiates employee disciplinary action in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and University rules, regulations, policies, and practices.
- Handles all other duties or tasks which may be assigned by the Director or Assistant Director.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Vaild driver’s license is required
- Must be able to obtain CSO Certification, CPR, First Aid and AED certifications within 3 months of hire.
