Assistant Professor, Physician Assistant Studies
The Shenandoah University Division of Physician Assistant Studies is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a faculty position based in Leesburg, VA. Scholar Plaza Campus. Leesburg has a vibrant commuter campus atmosphere in bustling Northern Virginia. This is a career-contract track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, and is a full-time, in-person, 12-month faculty position for spring 2022 semester reporting directly to the Physician Assistant Program Director.
This position is designed to work in both the didactic and clinical phases of the curriculum. Didactic responsibilities include teaching and student advising as a member of the full time faculty. In addition, participation in inter-professional education opportunities, academic scholarship service to the program, school and university committees is expected. Clinical responsibilities include networking and serving as a member of the clinical team in supporting students during their clinical rotations. Opportunities are provided for professional service to the PA profession and clinical practice.
Qualifications for this position include graduation from an accredited physician assistant program, minimum of an earned Master Degree, a minimum of two years current clinical practice experience, current NCCPA certification and eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Experience in PA education and/or clinical precepting is desirable. This position requires skills in graduate-level teaching, problem-solving, and networking, in addition to strong communication skills needed for work with students, preceptors, and members of the medical community.
