Where you come in:

 

"As the Deputy Program Operations Director for our Organization, you will be engaged in a full-time contractual role based in Port Vila, Vanuatu. Utilizing your technical proficiency, project operation background, and adept relationship-building abilities, you will assume a leadership position in overseeing and supporting Project Implementation across our Project sites. Your responsibilities will extend to guiding, supporting, and mentoring a committed team. Your pivotal role will contribute significantly to enhancing the welfare of children and vulnerable communities in Vanuatu, encompassing office operations, project management, budget oversight, team leadership, and the provision of technical guidance."

 

 

You will make an impact by:

 

  • Project Operation and Management – guaranteeing the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations, optimizing resources, and implementing strategies in alignment with Save The Children's mission and goals
  • Strategic Planning and Execution - actively participating in the formulation and implementation of strategic plans to ensure consistency with organizational objectives.
  • Community Engagement and Partnerships: Establishing robust relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and partners is of paramount importance.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Upholding program quality and compliance by ensuring strict adherence to policies, guidelines, and standards.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Assuming a central role in leading and nurturing a high-performing team.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Contributing to the design and implementation of robust monitoring and evaluation systems to facilitate data-driven decision-making and program refinement.
  • Adaptability and Innovation: Approaching problem-solving proactively, identifying inventive solutions, and adjusting strategies to effectively address evolving challenges.

 

Does this sound like you?

 

You have project and operation management and coordination skills, strong understanding of program implementation, excited to learn, adhere to policies & guidelines and able to work in a flexible and high achieving team.

 

This role requires:

 

  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines, responsive to external requests and be a strong team player. skills to recruit, train, and develop staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Strong, Operation Management, project management and budget management skills
  • Passion for empowering children and ensuring their meaningful participation in programmatic activities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Problem Solving, decision making, analyze situations and make informed decisions
  • Understanding of Local Context, including cultural, social, and economic factors, is essential.
